Fireworks and Safety
Independence Day is a time of celebration but it can quickly turn into an emergency situation. Small fireworks like sparklers and firecrackers may seem harmless but in 2017 alone they resulted in over 1200 injuries. In total for all types of fireworks, 8 people died and over 12,000 were injured. Sadly 50% of those were to people under 20 years old. A safer alternative are glow sticks for the kids.
